Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) announced longtime HR veteran and past C2HR Board Member Adria Alpert Romm (below left) will retire from her role as Chief People and Culture Officer in June 2024. “I have been incredibly fortunate to have Adria by my side for more than 30 years as one of my closest advisors,” said David Zaslav, CEO at WBD. “A strong people culture is critical to any successful company and Adria has fought every day to put employees first.”
WBD announced that Jennifer Remling (below right) will join the company in January as Adria’s successor. Her title will be Global Chief People Officer. With over 20 years of human resources, talent acquisition and development experience, Jennnifer was most recently Global Chief People Officer for WPP, the largest marketing services company in the world. Kia Painter, C2HR Vice President and Executive Vice President & Chief People Officer, Cox Communications, was honored with the Inspiration Award for Woman of the Year at the annual event hosted by WICT Network: Southeast. The group called Kia the “Beyonce of HR people,” leading by example with inspiration and passion. Her successful journey from part-time HR assistant in Virginia to leader of people functions across several Cox markets, to Chief People Officer in Atlanta, is a testament to how her career development has earned the respect and admiration of employees from all levels across the business.
