COVID-19’s Impact on Industry Compensation and Benefits Practice

While benchmarks from the 2020 C2HR Compensation Surveys will not be released until later this year, a pulse survey was conducted in July to identify how pay practices and benefits have been impacted by the pandemic. The survey identified that employers have responded to COVID-19 in a variety of ways including hiring freezes, pay increases for non-exempt essential workers and a reduction in executive base salaries.
